It’s always intriguing to observe how an offense evolves after an offensive coordinator departs. With Lane Kiffin and Charlie Weis Jr. departing for LSU, there were speculations about the new offensive coordinator, John David Baker, and his plans for this offense. John David Baker served as Ole Miss’ pass game coordinator in 2021 and as Co-OC from 2022 to 2023. He then moved to ECU from 2024 to 2025 to demonstrate his capabilities as the sole play caller. Now, he has returned to Ole Miss. In my opinion, he effectively maintained the success of the 2025 offense.

By comparing their offensive averages for 2025 and the box score from the Louisville game, we can see many similarities. They are on track to accumulate the same total yards, maintain a balanced approach between the run and pass, and continue to excel in explosive plays.
